I recently read an email intended to mobilize me to political action against legistlation in 18 states that will require munitions manufacturers to code ammunition. The email came from a good Republican (and card carrying member of the NRA) who views any such legislation as an attempt to take away his Constitutional right to bear arms. This same individual was an avid supporter of the Patriot Act. What I am constantly amazed by are the willingness on the part of some to embrace such completely contradictory beliefs. The person who sent me the email does not want coding to be required for ammunition sales because the Gov't will know how much and what kind of bullets he's buying. Yet, was a supporter of the Patriot Act and what was previously illegal wire tapping because he "had nothing to hide." Go figure.
